Speaker
Rony Dahan, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Systems Immunology at the Weizmann Institute of Science
Rony Dahan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Systems Immunology at the Weizmann Institute of Science. He completed his postdoctoral training with Prof. Jeffrey V. Ravetch at The Rockefeller University, where he investigated the role of Fcγ receptor (FcγR) pathways in antibody-mediated tumor immunity. During this work, he established mechanisms governing FcγR-dependent immunomodulation, laid the foundation for antibody-engineering strategies of checkpoint antibodies and developed an Fc-engineered CD40 agonist antibody now advancing through multiple clinical trials worldwide. At Weizmann, his research focuses on elucidating the molecular and cellular mechanisms that control antibody-based immunotherapies and on developing next-generation antibody platforms with improved potency, selectivity, and tolerability. By integrating high-throughput technologies for immune characterization, antibody engineering, FcγR biology, and humanized immune models, his group bridges basic immunology with translational medicine. His work has resulted in multiple Fc-optimzed and bispecific antibodies, several licensed and collaboratively developed with pharmaceutical partners to accelerate the clinical translation of novel immunotherapies.
